Perry wins for second time this year

Grand Blanc, MI (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kenny Perry sure is taking advantage of
Tiger Woods' absence from the PGA Tour.
Perry closed with a six-under 66 Sunday to win the Buick Open, his second win
this season. He completed the event at 19-under-par 269 for his second title
at this tournament.
The 47-year-old Perry also won The Memorial for the second time in his career
earlier this season. Woods has won this event and The Memorial a combined five
times, and Perry now has won the two events four times.
"It really hasn't sunk in until right now, because when you're in a birdie
contest out there, you're just grinding on every hole. You need to make as
many birdies as you can make," said Perry, who earned $900,000 for the win. "I
got in at 19-under and I still didn't think it was going to be enough. I was
fortunate enough to get it done."
Perry stated at the beginning of the year that his goal was to make the U.S.
Ryder Cup team as the event will be contested in his home state of Kentucky.
"I will walk 36 for that if he (captain Paul Azinger) wants me to play," Perry
said of the Ryder Cup. "That's going to be the icing on the cake for my
career. To be able to play at home in front of my home folks, home game, home
turf, it's just what I dream of. Something I've always wanted."
Woody Austin traded the lead with Perry several times on the back nine and a
bogey at the last cost him a chance at a playoff. Austin posted a four-under
68 to end one back at minus-18.
Austin was joined there by Bubba Watson, who also shot 68 on Sunday. Watson
hit a great recovery shot from the trees at the 18th, but missed the 12-foot
birdie putt that would have forced extra holes at Warwick Hills Golf & Country
Club.
Bob Tway (65), Ken Duke (67) and Matt Jones (67) shared fourth place at 17-
under-par 271.
Third-round leader Daniel Chopra stumbled to a three-over 75 Sunday to fall
into a share of 17th at minus-13.
Perry opened with a birdie on the first, then drained three birdies in a four-
hole span from the fourth to jump to 17-under. He was in the lead at 18-under
after a birdie on the 10th.
Austin, playing one group behind Perry, traded a birdie for a bogey from the
fifth. He drained consecutive birdie efforts from the seventh to move 16-
under.
Perry dropped to minus-17 with a bogey on the par-five 13th. He bounced right
back as he holed out for eagle on 14, but then bogeyed 15 to slip back to 18-
under.
"I hit a horrible pitching-wedge shot for my third shot on 13. That hole has
cost me nightmares all week," admitted Perry. "I can't hit that fairway on 15
and some how I hit it. Then I up-shoot a little seven-iron and bury it on the
front bunker and make bogey.
"Nine and 15 were hard holes on me this week. I holed that bunker shot on 14,
and what an incredible shot. I was just trying to get it within an eight, 10-
foot circle. And that thing took two hops and right in the cup."
Austin jumped ahead of Perry as he ran off three straight birdies from the
12th. Perry joined Austin at 19-under as he birdied the 16th.
The 44-year-old Austin birdied the par-five 16th to take the lead. However, he
bogeyed each of the last two holes to finish one back.
Watson was even-par on his front nine with three pars, three birdies and three
bogeys. Around the turn, he cruised up the leaderboard with four birdies to
get to 18-under.
After a par on 17, he nearly forced a playoff after hitting his drive way left
into the trees, but his 12-foot birdie effort stayed above ground giving Perry
the win.
